The following were awarded Pedagogy Awards in 2023:

T. H. M. Gellar-Goad, Wake Forest University: to support the purchasing of supplies for a new course, Gaming the Ancient World.

Michael Goyette, Eckerd College: to support attending CAMWS’ 2023 Annual Meeting in support of undergraduate student presentations.

Nandini B. Pandey, Johns Hopkins University: to support the creation of a collaboratively authored Open Educational Resource (OER) on “Race before Race: Ethnicity and Identity in the Ancient Mediterranean World."

The American Classical League (ACL) and the Society for Classical Studies (SCS) are pleased to present the Guidelines for Latin Teacher Preparation.

SCS has begun to track the status of MA-PhD / PhD programs in Classics and related fields in North America with respect to two important issues: (1) whether departments and programs are accepting new graduate students for academic year 2021-2022; and (2) whether deparmtents and programs are extending funding to current students.

Violence, harassment, and discrimination against Asians, Asian Americans, and Pacific Islanders have all been increasing over the past year. The shootings this week in Atlanta of six Asian women have brought discrimination and hate, and in particular gendered racism, against members of Asian communities in the US to the news headlines, but these murders are part of a larger trend with a long history. If you are looking for ways to support the AAPI community, take action, donate, or support AAPI classicists, here are some resources:
