The Department of Classical Studies at Boston College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor specializing in Greek literature, especially poetry. Ph.D. is required by the time of appointment (July 1, 2016); teaching experience is a plus.
Candidates must be able to teach both Greek and Latin language and literature from the elementary to the advanced level (the latter courses include both undergraduate and M.A. students). The normal teaching load is five courses per year, which will usually include Classical Mythology. We are especially interested in candidates who will develop exciting language and civilization courses that can benefit our majors and attract students outside the department.

The ideal candidate will show promise of both excellent undergraduate teaching and a strong research trajectory.
