The Department of Classics at the College of Charleston invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Classics, beginning August 16, 2016. We seek a Hellenist, committed to teaching Greek language at all levels, as well as courses in Greek literature and culture in translation. Attention will be given to research areas that complement and enhance our current programming. The teaching load is 3/3. The successful candidate will possess a demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate courses and conduct quality research. A Ph.D. in Classics is required by the time of appointment.
The Department of Classics has 8 faculty members and enjoys strong enrollments in Latin, Greek, Greek and Roman culture, history, and archaeology.
