The USC Department of Classics in the Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences seeks to fill a full-time, tenure-line position in the languages, literatures, and/or history of classical antiquity, broadly defined. Rank is open (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor). The appointment is to begin August 15, 2018. This position is the last of four that have been funded by a generous gift and that demonstrate the University’s commitment to classical studies as a central component of humanistic inquiry. Applications are invited from scholars who have a Ph.D. in hand at the time of appointment, whose scholarship and teaching are of demonstrable breadth as well as scholarly rigor, and whose work complements the work of current department faculty, including our recent hires.
