The Department of Classics at Florida State University has been authorized to make a full-time appointment in Roman Archaeology at the rank of Assistant Professor (tenure-track), effective August 2018. We are keenly interested in candidates who would bring new approaches to our department and enhance our strengths in classical archaeology.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the potential for outstanding scholarship, have a strong research program, and should have an interest in involving students at all levels in research. The teaching load is four courses per year, ranging from courses in FSU’s Liberal Studies Curriculum to advanced doctoral seminars. The Ph.D. must be in hand by July 1, 2018 (as per University policy).
