The Department of Classics at The University of Iowa invites applications for a 100%-time three-year Visiting Assistant Professor, to begin August 15, 2018. This is a non-tenure-track position. The teaching load is six courses per academic year. The successful candidate will teach courses in Latin or Greek as well as large lecture courses (approximately 175 enrollments) such as Greek Civilization, Ancient Medicine, and Classical Literature in Translation. The department also expects the candidate to develop a lecture-course for 100 undergraduates that complements current offerings and helps attract new majors. Ph.D. by time of appointment is required. Salary is dependent on candidate's experience and credentials.
