Beginning Academic Year 2018-2019; rank I-2, temporary, non-tenure track; annually renewable contingent upon performance, need and availability of funding. Must be available to start on August 13, 2018.

Duties and Responsibilities

Teach 12 credits per semester (24 credits per year) of ancient languages and classical literature and culture in translation. Serve on committees, advise students, and other assigned duties.

Minimum Qualifications

1.MA. in Classics or a closely related field;

2.Demonstrated evidence of successful teaching in ancient languages and literature and culture in translation at the college or university level.

Desirable Qualifications

1.PhD in Classics or a closely related field;

2.Experience in the revitalization of Greek and Latin language curricula and instruction;

3.Promotion of a Classics program at the undergraduate level;

4.Teach interdisciplinary coursework, e.g. in Sanskrit language; linguistics, religion, history, or archaeology of the ancient Mediterranean world;

5.Ability to develop and teach on-line courses.
