This post is available from September 2015 or earlier. We are seeking to maintain and enhance the academic excellence of the School of Classics by the appointment of a major scholar with internationally recognised expertise in Ancient History (broadly defined, including the material culture of the ancient world). The successful candidate will be required to teach undergraduates and postgraduates for the School's degree programmes in Ancient History, Ancient History & Archaeology and Classical Studies, to supervise PhD students, and to conduct research that meets the highest standards of excellence. She or he will offer academic leadership, and will make a major contribution to enhancing the School’s research environment and promoting collaborative research.
