The Department of Classical Studies invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor to replace a faculty member who will be on leave in 2015-2016. The successful applicant will be teaching 3 courses per semester, including Greek, Latin, and Classical Civilization courses. Candidates are expected to have a high aptitude for undergraduate teaching and a strong commitment to the mission of a thriving liberal arts program. Candidates should have the Ph.D. in hand, and they should be able to display evidence of excellence in teaching classical civilization and language courses.

Classical Studies at Trinity is a highly interdisciplinary undergraduate department with ties to Art History, Comparative Literature, History, Medieval Studies, Philosophy, Religion, Speech and Drama, Sociology and Anthropology, and Gender and Women’s Studies. The Department has six full-time faculty and one part-time faculty. There is an excellent library with over a million volumes and an excellent inter-library loan service.
