The Department of Greek & Roman Classics at Temple University invites applications from candidates for a non-tenure-track, full-time position for 2015-16. The department has particular needs in Latin language and Roman culture. We seek a colleague with a proven record of successful teaching of Latin at all levels. In addition to Latin, the candidate will be asked to teach a lecture course in Roman civilization and an upper-level, writing-intensive course on the ancient Roman city. Ability to teach a General Education offering on Race in the Ancient Mediterranean is also desirable. The teaching load for this position for 2015-16 is 3-3 (10-11 credit hours each term).

This position has the possibility of renewal, pending continued funding and satisfactory performance. Applicants should have the doctorate in hand, or have completion imminent. We request that candidates send only a cover letter indicating ability and experience for teaching the courses specified above, and a curriculum vitae, by e-mail (as attachments, in .pdf format; please include your last name as part of the filename). We will request full dossiers from select candidates only.

Please send application materials to Professor Daniel Berman, Chair, Greek & Roman Classics Department, at dwberman@temple.edu. Review of applications will begin immediately, and will continue until the position is filled. To receive fullest consideration applications should arrive no later than 15 May 2015.
