The Department of Classics at The University of Iowa invites applications for an 80%-time three-year Visiting Assistant Professor, to begin August 19, 2015. This is a non-tenure track position. The teaching load is six courses per academic year. In the first year the successful candidate will teach Elementary Latin Composition, Third-Semester Latin, and an on-line Medical Terminology course in the Fall and Fourth-semester Greek, an etymology course, and Medical-Terminology in the Spring. The department also expects the candidate to develop a lecture-course for 100 undergraduates that complements current offerings and helps attract new majors. Ph.D. by time of appointment is required. Salary is dependent on candidate's experience and credentials.
