The Department of Classics at the University of California, Irvine, invites applications for a full-time lecturer position for 2015-16. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Classics and a minimum of two years of university teaching experience. The teaching load is eight courses on the quarter system (e.g. 3-3-2) and includes sections of intermediate Latin, Roman history, and upper-division literature courses in translation. Experience in teaching Latin and proven excellence in teaching are essential. The annual full-time salary is $49,012 and the salary per course is $6,126.50 per quarter.
