The Department of World Languages at the University of South Florida is seeking candidates for an appointment to a 9-month tenure track position in Classics at the rank of Assistant Professor, effective August 7, 2016.

Responsibilities: Teach Latin and Classical Greek (all levels), culture courses in Classics. The successful candidate must exhibit a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching & participate in developing an interdisciplinary Classics curriculum. Excellence in research & scholarly publications are expected.

Minimum Qualifications: PhD. in Classics, Comparative Studies or related field by August 7, 2016. Expertise in teaching Classical Greek & Latin at all levels.

Preferred Qualifications: Strong background in one or more of these sub-fields: cultural studies, Classical reception/Classical heritage, gender studies, digital Humanities, and/or film & media studies.
