The Department of Classics at Yale University announces a one-year position in Classics at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor, to begin in Fall 2016. The successful candidate must show strong scholarly promise, and have completed all requirements for the PhD by August 1, 2016. The teaching load will be two courses per term. Strong preference will be given to candidates working in some area of Greek History. The successful candidate will be expected to teach survey and/or topics courses in the history of Classical and/or Hellenistic Greece, as well as courses in literature or material culture at the undergraduate and graduate level.
