Visiting Assistant Professor of Classics
The Department of Classics and Philosophy at Hollins University invites applications for a one-year, sabbatical leave position of Visiting Assistant Professor of Classics beginning July 2016. The position is for a generalist to teach five courses, including elementary and advanced Latin, survey of ancient art, and an undergraduate classics course on a topic of choice. Ph.D. and college teaching experience are preferred. Applications are sought from candidates who have demonstrated success working with diverse populations. Qualified candidates should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, graduate school transcripts (unofficial transcripts are acceptable), evidence of teaching excellence, and three letters of reference to classicssearch@hollins.edu. Review of applications will begin March 21, 2016, and will continue until the position is filled. Final candidates will be subject to a criminal history background check.
