The Classics program at the University of Hawaii at Manoa invites applications for a temporary, half-time to full-time non-tenure track appointment at the rank of Lecturer beginning August 15, 2016. The position is renewable for Spring 2017 and future semesters subject to enrollments, funding, and positive performance reviews. Applicants must have a minimum of an MA in Classics or an immediately relevant field and teaching experience, but preference will be given to those with a PhD. The successful candidate will be expected to teach three to four courses at the undergraduate level per semester including Greek and Latin language, Greek and Roman literature and culture in translation, and/or etymology. Compensation for this position ranges from $1486 per credit to $2086 per credit, to commensurate with qualifications. The maximum annual salary range for teaching eight courses is $35,664-$50,064.
