Latinist (JPF02506)

The Department of Classics at the University of California, Los Angeles, has been authorized to make an appointment to a full-time position in Latin literature and culture at the rank of Assistant Professor (tenure-track), effective July 1, 2017. We invite applicants with interests from across the range of ancient Latin literature who would expand the department’s current strengths. The successful candidate will demonstrate evidence of scholarship and a commitment to produce research of high quality and originality. She or he will also demonstrate a commitment to teach a wide variety of courses at all levels of our active undergraduate and graduate programs, both in Greek and Latin and in translation. We welcome candidates whose experience in teaching, research, or community service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and excellence.

Short-listed candidates will be interviewed at the meetings of the Archaeological Institute of America/Society for Classical Studies in Toronto in early January. The successful candidate should plan to have the Ph.D. in hand by the starting date of the appointment.
