The Classics Department at Hamilton College invites applications for one or possibly two one-year positions at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor to begin on July 1, 2017. Applicants should have the Ph.D. in hand or be in the very last stages of completing the dissertation. They should display evidence of accomplished teaching and a record of scholarship or strong scholarly promise. Hamilton is a distinguished liberal arts college with very competitive salaries and a teaching load of five courses per year. Applicants should be prepared to teach all levels of Greek, Latin, and Classical Studies; in particular we are interested in someone who can teach a course in environmental studies. Applicants should also possess the ability to make creative use of information technology. Hamilton College believes that diversity is essential to the excellence of its academic program.
