The Department of Classics announces a Postdoctoral Fellowship beginning August 2017. Initial appointment is for one calendar year, with automatic renewal for a second year pending satisfactory completion of duties. In addition to engagement with the undergraduate and graduate students and participation in the research program of the Department, the duties of the position shall include a teaching load of 2 courses each term, at both undergraduate and graduate levels. The salary is set at $47,659 per annum; if eligible under ACA requirements, health insurance benefits are available. This position is open only to those who have received the Ph.D. after January 1, 2013; the Ph.D. must be in hand by July 1, 2017 (this is a requirement of the University and is not negotiable).

We seek a specialist in Late Antiquity whose interests intersect with history, social and material culture, or religion. We are keenly interested in scholars with innovative research methodologies such as digital or visual cultural approaches to Late Antiquity.
