The Department of Classical Studies invites applications for a one-year, full-time, visiting appointment in Latin literature at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin in July 2017. We seek a specialist in Latin poetry or Roman drama, their reception in the modern world, and classical reception or performance theory. The candidate should be able to offer courses in Latin at all levels, along with courses in classical civilization related to their literary interests. Candidates with experience in the digital humanities, and who are also able to offer courses in Greek language and literature, will be given preference. The teaching load is five courses a year.
