Skidmore College invites applications for a full-time, two-year faculty position in Classics for the academic years 2017-2018 and 2018-2019. We are particularly interested in candidates from underrepresented backgrounds who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of our academic community and have experience teaching and mentoring a diverse student body. The teaching load is three courses per semester. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience.

The successful candidate will be able to teach several courses from among the following: Greek and Latin at all levels, classical mythology, and civilization courses of broad interest and appeal. Candidates with a specialization in gender and sexuality, environmental issues, religion, or race and ethnicity are especially encouraged to apply. Depending on the candidate's expertise, there is a possibility of teaching some courses in other programs including Gender Studies, Religious Studies, Environmental Studies and Sciences. The successful candidate will join an energetic and collegial department that is passionate about teaching and research.
