The Department of the Classics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign invites applications for a full-time 9-month, non-tenure track appointment at the rank of Lecturer in the area of Classics and Classical Reception, with a start date of August 16, 2017. Applicants must have a PhD in Classics or in an immediately relevant field by August 1, 2017. Evidence of excellence in teaching is required. The successful candidate will be expected to teach three undergraduate courses each semester, including Classical Civilization courses on topics including reception, religion, and gender and sexuality.
