The Department of Philosophy at Queens College invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at the level of Assistant Professor in the field of Ancient Greek Philosophy, to begin in Fall 2018. We seek candidates with a strong scholarly background who are committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching and identify with the mission of Queens College and the City University of New York. The person appointed will teach introductory and advanced courses in Ancient Philosophy, including courses co-listed with Classics; elective courses for Philosophy majors and minors; and general education courses offered by the department. The teaching load for faculty active in research in 3/3, reduced by 8 courses in the first five years.The successful applicant is expected to maintain an active research agenda and to participate in the department's advisement and service responsibilities. PhD. by date of appointment. Knowledge of Ancient Greek required.
