The Classical Studies Department at Dickinson College seeks a classicist with a specialization in Greek History for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professorship. The position carries a five-course teaching load, including Greek History, beginning ancient Greek, possibly Latin, and either Mythology or Ancient Worlds on Film. Candidates need to demonstrate a record of pedagogical excellence and be able to participate fully in an interdisciplinary, Classics curriculum in line with Dickinson’s liberal arts tradition. The ability to create inclusive learning environments for an increasingly diverse student body will be an important characteristic of the successful candidate. A willingness to participate in the department’s dynamic co-curricular and extracurricular activities is also expected and a completed Ph.D. degree by September 2018 is preferred.
