Description
The Department of Classics at the University of Florida invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, tenure-accruing position at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning August 16, 2019. Field of specialization: Latin Republican Literature. We especially seek candidates whose research and teaching interests will complement and enhance our existing departmental strengths (https://classics.ufl.edu/).
The successful candidate will be expected to maintain an active research agenda and be involved in all levels of curriculum development and teaching, undergraduate, graduate, and distance learning, including supervision of dissertations and participation in graduate committee activities. The successful candidate will also be invited to contribute to the UF Quest initiative (http://undergrad.aa.ufl.edu/uf-quest/uf-quest-trials/). The teaching assignment for research faculty is two courses per semester. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Qualifications
A Ph.D. in Classics is required at the time of appointment.
