The Department of Classics at Union College invites applications for a one-year appointment at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor that will begin in September 2020. PhD should be in hand by August 2020. We invite applications from specialists in the history of the ancient Mediterranean world. Contributions to the College's interdisciplinary programs are welcome (e.g., Computational Methods; Digital Media; Religious Studies; Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies). Teaching competencies must include Greek and Latin at all undergraduate levels as well as general courses in translation. We also look for evidence of an active research program. Union employs a trimester system, and the normal teaching load is two courses per term.
