The Department of Classics at Florida State University announces a Postdoctoral Fellowship beginning August 2020. Initial appointment is for one calendar year, with automatic renewal for two additional years pending satisfactory completion of duties, for a total of three years maximum. In addition to engagement with the undergraduate and graduate students and participation in the research program of the Department, the duties of the position shall include teaching both graduate and undergraduate courses; the teaching load is two courses per term. The salary is set at $48,000.00 per annum; the position is eligible for health insurance. This position is open only to those who have received the Ph.D. after January 1, 2016; the Ph.D. must be in hand by July 1, 2020.
We seek a specialist in Greek Archaeology and Material Culture whose interests complement those of the current faculty. (Current faculty and their areas of specialization can be found at https://classics.fsu.edu/people/faculty.) We are interested in scholars with a strong research program and innovative approaches to Greek Archaeology. The Scholar will have the opportunity to help in co-organizing a workshop, colloquium, or similar event during the tenure of the fellowship.
