Senior Academic Position in the Department of Classics at Tel Aviv University

The Department of Classics at Tel Aviv University, Israel, invites applications for a tenure-track position in Classics with a specialization in Greek and/or Latin language and classical linguistics, literature (prose, poetry, and drama), and culture effective from October 1st , 2021.

The successful candidate is required to teach courses in his/her field(s) of specialization and in the classical languages, supervise graduate students, and conduct high-quality research in his/her field(s) of expertise. He/she is expected to be actively involved in the Department’s and the Faculty’s affairs and to develop scholarly collaborations with other researchers in the University. The main teaching language at Tel Aviv University is Hebrew. A successful candidate who is not proficient in Hebrew is expected to teach in Hebrew within three years from the appointment.

Candidates must have a Ph.D., or receive a Ph.D. before filling the position.

Salary and conditions will conform to Tel Aviv University regulations. Appointment procedures will be carried out according to the rules and regulations of Tel-Aviv University and are subject to the approval of the University authorities.
