Limited Term Position for Assistant Professor of Art History.

Elon University seeks a Limited Term Assistant Professor of Art History for a one-year position starting August 2021. Requirements: PhD or ABD in art history, visual culture, or archaeology, a record of professional presentations, and teaching experience at the college level. Teaching responsibilities will be six (6) courses for the year, including two sections of our introductory thematic course ARH 210: Art History of the Ancient World and an upper-level course in the candidate’s research area and may include other introductory thematic courses (ARH 211 and/or 212), courses in museum/curatorial studies, and/or art history’s methodologies. The successful candidate should be eager to work within Elon's relationship-rich and engaged learning pedagogies in an innovative art history program that emphasizes critical reading, discussion, and problem-solving rather than lecture and memorization.
