The Department of Classics at Hampden-Sydney College (www.hsc.edu) invites applications for a one-year sabbatical replacement for academic year 2021-22. Although candidates with a Ph.D. in Classics or related field are preferred, A.B.D. candidates will be considered. We seek a broadly trained classicist who is prepared to teach all levels of Greek and Latin and is enthusiastic about teaching courses in translation as well. A record of excellence in language teaching is essential. The annual teaching load is seven courses; class sizes are kept small.
