The Department of History and Classics at Providence College invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in Ancient Roman History (Republic or Early Imperial) beginning in the fall of 2025. The ability to teach undergraduate survey courses in Greek and Roman history, as well as all levels of Greek and Latin, is required. Competence to teach in the Development of Western Civilization program, as part of the regular 3-3 teaching load, is also required. Experience in interdisciplinary and/or team teaching is desirable. Ph.D. by date of appointment is required.
