WABASH COLLEGE – CRAWFORDSVILLE, IN

Wabash College invites applications for a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of Classics to begin July 1, 2013. Candidates’ primary scholarly expertise should lie in the Greek world; preference will be give to those specializing in Greek history or historiography who demonstrate competence and interest in teaching Greek and Latin languages and literatures at all undergraduate levels. Teaching responsibilities include Elementary Greek, Greek History, intermediate and advanced courses in Greek and Latin, and thematic introductory and advanced courses in translation. Ph.D. required by time of appointment.

This position is a Byron K. Trippet assistant professorship that provides a summer stipend and research funds during the first two years. Salary and benefits are competitive, and include generous institutional support for professional travel. Wabash College is located in Crawfordsville, Indiana, approximately 45 minutes from Indianapolis and less than 3 hours from Chicago.
