The Classics Department at Xavier University, a Jesuit-Catholic institution, invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of assistant professor beginning Fall 2008. Applicants should have experience teaching Latin and Greek and be prepared to teach courses in translation such as Greek, Roman, and Near Eastern civilization, and Greek and Latin literature. The candidate must demonstrate publication potential and a research plan. The Ph.D. must be in hand at the start of the appointment. The deadline for applications is October 15, 2007.
