The Department of History, Faculty of Arts, invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in ancient Greco-Roman history, with a preference for one or more of the following areas: women and/or gender; Greco-Roman Egypt; the Hellenistic period; Late Antiquity. The position, to commence on July 1, 2007, is subject to budgetaryapproval. Requirements include a completed Ph.D. in history or equivalent discipline and an ongoing program of historical research in the area of specialization. Candidates are expected to demonstrate promise of excellence in teaching at all levels as well as in scholarly research and publication. The successful candidate should be suitable for prompt appointment to the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
