Dear SCS Members,

We would like to remind you of the approaching deadlines for submissions for the 2021 AIA/SCS Annual Meeting. Please see below for relevant deadlines associated with submission type, plus an update to the deadline for reports from Category II Affiliated Groups that have issued a call for abstracts. We would like to remind you that, unless stated otherwise, submissions should be made via the SCS submission website at https://program.classicalstudies.org.

DEADLINES:

  • Tuesday, April 21: The deadline for submitting proposals for panels, seminars, workshops, and roundtables is Tuesday, April 21st, 2020 before 11:59 pm, Eastern Time. Affiliated Groups that have received abstracts, completed their selection process, and are able to submit by this deadline via the submission website are encouraged to do so.
  • Tuesday, April 28th: Individual Abstracts and Lightning Talks: The deadline for Individual Abstracts and Lightning Talks is at or before 11:59 pm, Eastern Time, on April 28, 2020.
  • Monday, June 8th: Extension granted for Affiliated Group Reports on panels: Groups that are unable to submit a report by April 21st via the program submission system will be granted an extension to submit no later than Monday, June 8th, 2020, at or before 11:59 pm, Eastern Time. Should groups choose to use the extension and submit after April 21, panel organizers must email their reports to info@classicalstudies.org. Should groups want to re-issue a call for abstracts, they should re-submit the information to us via info@classicalstudies.org.

Members should note that the Vergilian Society has already extended its own deadline for abstract submission. See its renewed call for abstracts. Members submitting an individual abstract to an affiliated group with an extended deadline may also submit an individual abstract for the regular program.

Lastly, to ensure your submission is properly received, we strongly recommend that you gather all of the information you will need (name, affiliation, member ID number, etc., of all organizers, presenters, and introducers) BEFORE you begin your submission. If you navigate away from the submission page before filling out the required fields (marked with a red asterisk) AND saving your work, your work will be lost.

Many thanks,

the SCS Team.
