MESA Calls for Awareness, Action Regarding Turkish Academic Freedom Posted Tue, 07/26/2016 - 08:03 in SCS Announcements. With unanimous approval from our Board of Directors, the Society for Classical Studies endorsed the statement released by MESA on July 21, 2016 regarding violations of academic freedom and freedom of expression in Turkey. "Earlier this year, it was already clear that the Turkish government, in a matter of months, had amassed a staggering record of violations of academic freedom and freedom of expression. The aftermath of the attempted coup may have accelerated those attacks on academic freedom in even more alarming ways." Read more ...
