The Department of Classical Languages and Literatures at Agnes Scott College invites applications for a one-year position at the level of Assistant Professor for AY 2005-2006. There is a possibility of conversion to tenure track for which the successful candidate would be eligible to apply. Excellence in undergraduate teaching is essential along with ability to contribute to the growth of the program. Courses to be taught this year may include Latin at all levels, and advanced courses in Latin Historians and Latin didactic poetry. An interest in material culture or Medieval Latin would be welcome.

The Ph.D. should be completed or near completion. Application materials must include a letter with a statement of teaching interests, curriculum vitae, graduate transcript, and two current letters of recommendation that should speak to teaching ability.
