AVE MARIA UNIVERSITY -- NAPLES, FL
Ave Maria University announces a full-time faculty position to begin in Fall 2005, pending final budgetary approval. Completion of the Ph.D. by May 2005 is required. Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience and credentials. The department is seeking a generalist to teach a sequence of required courses in elementary and intermediate Latin language. In addition, applicants should be competent in Golden Age Latin literature and in Patristic and ecclesiastical Latin. The ability to teach Ancient Greek and biblical Greek at elementary and intermediate levels is desirable. Research in ancient Greek or Roman cultures or their continuity in the early Christian era will strengthen a candidateîs application. Teaching excellence is essential, along with a commitment to scholarship. In addition, the successful applicant will be committed to the educational mission of Ave Maria University, which is the education of the whole person in the Catholic liberal arts tradition, as articulated in Ex Corde Ecclesiae, Veritatis Splendor and Fides et Ratio.
