Assistant Professor of Classics - Department of Modern Languages and Classics. One year, full-time contract position available August 16, 2002, for the academic year with possibility of reappointment. Responsibilities: teaching in classics and related areas, including introductory and upper division courses; engaging in scholarly activity. Normal teaching load is 12 hours each semester. Minimum qualifications: ABD in discipline; at least one years' teaching experience, particularly in Latin, Greek, or introductory Classical Civilization, mythology, or etymology; research promise expected. Preferred qualifications: Ph.D. in discipline; generalist; evidence of successful teaching. Competitive salary.
