Classical Studies. Tenure-track position for an archaeologist. Begins August 2013. In addition to courses in material culture and archaeology, the position will require experience and demonstrated strength in language teaching, as well as the ability to teach writing, speaking, and critical reading in Hanover’s freshman “Great Works” seminars. Teaching in the first year of the appointment will include introductory and intermediate Latin, a Great Works course on comedy and tragedy, and electives designed by the appointee and focused on material culture and archaeology. Teaching load is seven courses, three each in Fall and Winter terms plus an elective in our May term. Ph.D. and full-time teaching experience preferred.
