SEOUL NATIONAL UNIVERSITY – SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA
The Interdisciplinary Program of Classical Studies at Seoul National University, Seoul, South Korea, invites applications for a visiting professorship. We seek a Classicist with a Ph.D. in hand at the time of appointment, preferably with an expertise in Greek and/or Latin literature and some experience in teaching, and having an active interest in other disciplines in the humanities. Candidates interested in the history of the transmission and reception of classical literature in later ages are also encouraged to apply. The appointment is for one year beginning September 2006 and is renewable. The appointee should expect to teach two graduate courses in Greek and Roman literature and culture each semester. Classes can be conducted in English or German. The position carries a salary range of $70,000 to $80,000 plus a fully-furnished apartment on campus.

The Program is a graduate program offering M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Classics. It also offers undergraduate courses in mythology and civilization, Greek tragedy, and Classical literature as well as Greek and Latin at all levels. Seoul National University is one of the most active research centers for the study of the humanities in Korea.
