The Department of Classics invites applications for a possible full-time, non-tenure-track position at the rank of Instructor to begin in the academic year 2002-2003. The appointment is for one year. Ph.D. degree preferred. The primary area of responsibility will be teaching Latin and Greek at the introductory and intermediate levels. The successful applicant must have experience in teaching one or both languages at these levels. There is a possibility of teaching advanced undergraduate courses in Latin or Greek. Teaching load is 4 courses per semester. Salary: $28,500. The Department of Classics seeks to make an appointment of a Classical Archaeologist at the rank of tenure-track Assistant Professor. Ph.D. required. We seek a field-oriented individual with strong potential for externally funded research. Bronze Age or Early Iron Age specialty preferred. The successful candidate will show strong promise of scholarly achievement, as well as demonstrated excellence in teaching Greek or Latin at the undergraduate level.
