Classics position. The Department of Languages and Literature at the University of Utah invites applications for a tenure-track position at the entry level in Classics. The candidate's scholarly strength should be in Latin and Augustan Poetry. Competence in Greek and Roman Religion is also desired. Candidates must be able to teach a broad range of general courses in Classical Civilization, Comparative Literature and Intellectual Traditions of the West. Strong commitment to scholarship and publication as well as to undergraduate teaching is necessary. Teaching load is two courses per semester. The University of Utah offers excellent research opportunities. Ph.D. required by time of appointment. Interviewing will take place at the APA Convention in Philadelphia, PA, January 3-6, 2002.
