The Department of Classics at Grand Valley State University invites applications for a one-year position as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Classics for the 2021-2022 academic year. Courses will include mythology, literature in translation, and other courses in ancient Mediterranean civilization.
We seek a broadly trained colleague with the desire to contribute to a vibrant and forward-thinking Classics community. The successful applicant will have experience in (or demonstrated understanding of) social justice issues and/or inclusion, diversity, or intercultural training. A Ph.D. in Classics by the start of the appointment in August 2021 is preferred, although we will also consider advanced ABD candidates.
