The Department of Classical Studies at Boston University invites applications for a 1-year appointment (non-renewable) to the position of Visiting Assistant Professor, beginning 1 July 2022. The teaching load will be 2:2, and includes two lecture courses (Roman History and World of Rome); an advanced Latin course; and an elementary Greek course. The successful applicant will have a PhD in hand by 1 July 2022. We will seek recommendation letters only for shortlisted applicants.
The scholar in this VAP role will enter a close-knit, supportive department, with fellow faculty who are ready to provide mentorship and support. We are looking for a candidate who will bring a fresh, distinctive perspective to the study of the Roman world, and can contribute to our mission of understanding the Classics in the broadest terms possible.
