Visiting Assistant Professor of Classics

Kenyon College, a highly selective liberal arts college in central Ohio, invites applications for an approved one-year visiting assistant professor in the Department of Classics, with a specialty in Latin literature or Roman civilization, effective July 1, 2022.

Teaching responsibilities will consist of five courses: in the fall semester, advanced Latin, a survey of Latin literature in translation, and another course in translation on a topic chosen by the candidate in consultation with the department; in the spring, an intermediate Latin course on Vergil and a survey of Roman history in translation. We seek candidates whose scholarly specialties complement those of current faculty and who are committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the classroom. A Ph.D. in hand is preferred, but not required. Applicants must be able to demonstrate excellence in teaching.

Inquiries may be directed to Rachel Hoffman, Administrative Assistant for Classics, at hoffman2@kenyon.edu or 740-427-5216.
