(Revised to note that review of applications will begin immediately.)

The Department of Classics invites applications for a full-time language lecturer position in ancient Greek and Latin expected to begin September 1, 2022. We anticipate the position to span the AY2022-2023 academic year. We seek candidates with a minimum requirement of a Master's degree in Classics or related fields (Ph.D. is preferred) who can demonstrate expertise in ancient-language pedagogy. The ability to teach a third language that would expand our offerings in Classics (e.g. Old Persian, Demotic, Syriac, Classical Arabic) would be a welcome addition, but this is by no means a requirement or expectation. Applications must include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, statement of teaching interest, and contact information for at least three references. We also ask that candidates submit a writing sample roughly between 5,000 and 15,000 words in length (e.g. a published or forthcoming article, or a dissertation chapter). Reference letters will be requested after a Zoom interview. Review of applications will begin immediately and will be conducted until the position is filled.

This position is subject to the University's background check policy.

Princeton University is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to age, race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
