The Departments of Classics and Religious Studies at Hamilton College jointly invite applications for a one-year visiting position at the rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor, beginning July 1, 2021. We seek candidates to teach Latin at all levels and courses at all levels on religions of late antiquity, cross-listed in Classics and Religious Studies. The teaching load for this position is five courses (two courses in the first semester and three courses in the second semester). Pre-doctoral, Ph.D. candidate preferred. Those who already hold a Ph.D. are welcome to apply. Satisfactory knowledge of Latin and ancient Greek is necessary. Some experience teaching Latin and/or Greek at College/University level is preferable.

This is a full-time, 9 month position that runs from mid-August until mid-May, with benefits. Teaching duties are the equivalent of 3 blocks (a full load is 6 blocks).
