New College of Florida, the nationally recognized honors college of the State University System of Florida, invites applications for the position of Visiting Assistant Professor of Classics in the Division of Humanities for the 2025-26 academic year.

Examples of Duties
Candidate will teach a 3/3 load, which includes teaching Elementary Latin I and II with Wheelock’s Latin, Roman Civilization, and a semester of New College’s first-year core-curriculum course on Homer’s Odyssey. In addition to these four courses, the candidate should propose two courses on topics of their choosing (e.g., ancient athletics, mythology, ancient science or medicine, ancient religion, or ancient law).

Minimum Qualifications
Candidates should be enthusiastic about working in a small liberal arts college environment.
