The American School of Classical Studies at Athens, a nonprofit research institution, is seeking to hire an Associate Editor in its publications department in Princeton, NJ. Duties will include copyediting, proofreading, and production editing of book-length manuscripts and journal articles, many heavily illustrated; corresponding and working with authors; performing editorial evaluations of manuscripts under consideration; organizing and sizing illustrations; obtaining printers' estimates; writing catalog copy; working closely with other staff members; other administrative tasks as necessary. Candidate must have strong computer skills and must be willing to learn to edit onscreen. Must be highly organized and efficient. Previous editorial experience, preferably in archaeological publications, required. Knowledge of ancient Greek a strong plus, as is experience in desktop publishing.
